A Collection of Modern Classics

"As beautiful as old instruments and bows are, we live in a very fortunate age, when modern making is at an incredibly high level!"   ---Hartmut Ometzberger

 Roland Houel, Luthier

Roland Houel, Luthier

HARTMUT OMETZBERGER plays on a violin by the very talented luthier Roland Houel. (www.rolandhouel.com). His violin was made especially for him in 2013, and since then, it has been Hartmut's main concert instrument. Audience members continually ask Hartmut about his violin, and without exception, they believe that it must be an old Italian. It is with great joy that he can tell them that they had just been listening to a great modern instrument.

HARTMUT OMETZBERGER'S bows are made by Noel Burke and Charles Espey. Both are wonderful bow makers and produce bows that are works of art and draw a beautiful sound.

The violin trade was "probably the only trade in the world where the old is continuously more admired than the new. . . "
